This integration is achieved in either slave or master configurations with minimal external components for filtering. The FOUNDATION Fieldbus mode operates as a half-duplex FOUNDATION Fieldbus compatible H1 Controllers and MAUs with all required circuitry integrated. The digital UART interface or integrated FIFO accessed by an SPI interface transfers the HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, or PROFIBUS PA data stream from the microcontroller. A Do pin is included in the SPI interface for daisy-chain support, various interrupts, and other features.
